ALTG awarded $12 million in funding

The ALTG is pleased to announce over $12 million in funding has been successfully awarded to ALTG, NHMRC Clinical Trial Centre and the Australian Genomic Cancer Medicine Centre for the ASPiRATION project. In this ground-breaking precision medicine study, led by ALTG President A/Prof Nick Pavlakis and ALTG Scientific Advisory Committee Chair, Prof Ben Solomon, ASPiRATION will explore the benefit of routine comprehensive genomic profiling in 1000 newly-diagnosed metastatic, non-squamous, NSCLC patients in Australia. The enhanced genomic profiling will assist in personalising patient care by matching patients to targeted treatments as early as possible to improve patient outcomes.

The ALTG Needs You! Office Bearer Elections

We are actively seeking candidates for several roles on the Management Advisory Committee (MAC). The MAC oversees the affairs of the group, including review of expenditure and use of group resources as well as general operations and activities. No specific qualifications are required other than your time, input and enthusiasm to help the ALTG continue its growth and development. Elections for four positions will be held at this year’s ALTG Members’ Meeting on August 17th in Melbourne. In addition, one representative from the group’s Consumer Advisory Panel (CAP) will join the MAC.

Open positions:

  • President
  • Nursing/Allied Health craft group representative
  • Thoracic Surgeon craft group representative
  • NZ Member

Elections for other MAC roles are scheduled to take place each year on a rolling basis, to maintain continuity. Contact Ros for further information about nominations and the election process.
