ALTG awarded $12 million in funding

The ALTG is pleased to announce over $12 million in funding has been successfully awarded to ALTG, NHMRC Clinical Trial Centre and the Australian Genomic Cancer Medicine Centre for the ASPiRATION project. In this ground-breaking precision medicine study, led by ALTG President A/Prof Nick Pavlakis and ALTG Scientific Advisory Committee Chair, Prof Ben Solomon, ASPiRATION will explore the benefit of routine comprehensive genomic profiling in 1000 newly-diagnosed metastatic, non-squamous, NSCLC patients in Australia. The enhanced genomic profiling will assist in personalising patient care by matching patients to targeted treatments as early as possible to improve patient outcomes.

TACT Update

The first TACT General Assembly was held prior to the ASCO Annual Scientific Meeting on June 3 in Chicago. More than 40 representatives of TACT’s 13 Member Groups and 4 Industry Partner Program Members attended. Paul Mitchell gave an update on behalf of the Board on the collaboration’s progress since its launch in September 2015, followed by introductory presentations from each of the member groups. The TACT website is now live at www.TACTlung.com and has presentations, documents and more information about TACT and its meetings available for viewing and download.

The second TACT General Assembly will be held on December 4 in Vienna, prior to the World Conference on Lung Cancer.
