ALTG awarded $12 million in funding

The ALTG is pleased to announce over $12 million in funding has been successfully awarded to ALTG, NHMRC Clinical Trial Centre and the Australian Genomic Cancer Medicine Centre for the ASPiRATION project. In this ground-breaking precision medicine study, led by ALTG President A/Prof Nick Pavlakis and ALTG Scientific Advisory Committee Chair, Prof Ben Solomon, ASPiRATION will explore the benefit of routine comprehensive genomic profiling in 1000 newly-diagnosed metastatic, non-squamous, NSCLC patients in Australia. The enhanced genomic profiling will assist in personalising patient care by matching patients to targeted treatments as early as possible to improve patient outcomes.

6th ALCC – ALTG Members’ Meeting, Elections and the ALTG Masterclass

Members’ Meeting and Elections

The 6th ALCC is fast approaching, in Melbourne from August 18 to 20, and we hope to see as many of you there as possible. Please make time for one extra day and support the ALTG by attending the ALTG Members’ Meeting on August 17, commencing at 9.30 am. Log in to the Member’s Home Page to see the agenda. This is your opportunity to hear first-hand how the group is performing and, importantly, have your say. The agenda includes a review of activities over the last 12 months, discussion of group trials in progress and new concepts in development, changes to the Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) and, importantly, elections for three positions on the Management Advisory Committee (MAC) – President, NZ Representative and Thoracic Surgery Representative. If you wish to nominate yourself or someone else, contact Ros or download a nomination form.

Call for New Concepts

The Members’ Meeting agenda includes a session for discussion of new study concepts not currently listed on the group’s trial register. If you have a concept that you wish to submit for the meeting, please complete the concept outline and send it to enquiries@altg.com.au by 1 August 2016.

ALTG Masterclass

Within the main ALCC programme, the ALTG will run a Masterclass on Friday August 19 from 2.00 to 3.30 pm. The session will be chaired by Nick Pavlakis and Rina Hui, Ben Solomon and Jackie Yoong will address immunotherapy, targeted therapies and palliative care, including the ALTG’s clinical research activities.
